Keeping it weird on South Lamar in 78704
Spring is officially here in ATX! That means patio weather and hanging outside.
Irie Bean is owned and operated by a local longtime hospitality industry family. They know what it takes to make the experience right. The Stovall’s have owned it for the last 5 years of the 15 years in business. It was a different coffee shop before Irie and if you have lived in Austin for awhile, you know the interesting businesses there previously.
Local Art. Check!
Not only are they a great coffee shop where you can pull up a chair and laptop, they feature local art. You can see art from Brad and his boys inside decorating the walls. They also showcase local art every month (for sale, all proceeds to the artist). Talk about supporting local business.
The coffee is all organic, fair trade and locally roasted by Texas Coffee Traders! There is a lot more to offer than just coffee here too!
On top of also offering beer and wine options they have a good selection of local snacks. Both Gluten free and Vegan options. They have breakfast tacos brought in daily from El Xolo and bagels delivered daily from Rockstar Bagels.
Okay, back to the patio for now.
I would have to say the patio is a hidden gem (eclectic is maybe a fun way to describe it). If you were to be walking by on South Lamar, you would not know it was there. The outside bar is open when they host special events and the weekly “open mic night”.
You can kick back and chill out in the hammocks while enjoying the Austin weather.
Open Mic Nights are Thursdays 7-10 on the back patio.
Go enjoy a great Latte or cold beer! You won’t be disappointed.
Shop local. Cheers!
